I installed a driver for my Linksys Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter (with Speedbooster) – help?

It installed successfully, everything went smoothly, the adapter lit up, but it won’t connect and the monitor icon says disabled. I have a Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter with Speedbooster from LINKSYS. What went wrong?

Hi Andy,

1st of all, please ensure that the adapter you have installed is enabled in the Network settings.

Click Start-> Control Panel. From there go to Network connections.

Check for the adapter you have installed and check for the status to be enabled.

If the same is enabled, Right Click on the same and Select View Available Wireless Networks.

This should ideally search for your existing Wireless Network and connect to it (if security is not configured on router).

If the adapter is disabled, right click on the same and click Enable and follow the above steps.

If security is enabled on the router, you may need to configure the same on the new adapter as well.

Update / Email in case an further assistance is required.
